John Plumly was born about 1677 in England.. He was the son of Charles Plumly and Margery Ann Page. His mother married Henry Paxson after his father's death.

He married Mary Bainbridge in April, 1707.

John Plumly (1715/6, married Alice Heaton),
William Plumly ( 1719 married Phoebe Denton, daughter of Abraham Denton)
